Q.1 Answer the following questions.
1. Write five sentences on how you have benefited from transport facilities.
Ans: I have benefited from transport facilities in following way.
A. I can travel with ease a short and long distance as well.
B. Access to medical services become easier and quicker.
C. I can visit tourists places randomly.
D. It save time, effort and money too.
E. It helps me to go to my school, library and entertainment places easily and comfortably.
2. List four other facilities that have become available in the local area due to transport facilities.
Ans: Following are the othe facilities that have become available in the local area due to transport facilities.
A. Local market is available due to transport facilities.
B. The local business has flourished due to transport facilities.
C. Trade and economy also flourished due to it.
D. All necessary online services also are available due to transport facilities.
3. Suggest four solutions to reduce the burden on the local transport.
Ans. Following are the four solutions to reduce the burden on the Local transport.
A. There should be differences in the reporting and leaving time of the local offices. Mostly office time is similar one so people leave home and office at the same time.
B. There should be different way dor heavy vehicle and entering time in the city.
C. Limitations on using big cars such as 5 seaters 7 seater and 9 seaters.Mostly we do find only one or two persons travel in such a big cars.
D. Road maintenance should be done in the night after travelling hours.
4. Find the area in your locality with the least pollution. Why is this the least polluted area.
Ans. ( Students answers to this question may various as per your location; it may be rural or urben. you need to write it yourself. Even though I will give answer for your comprehension. )
According to me at my place, residence near Kanakiya park in Mira road,Dist.Thane is least polluted. Its some what far way from the main city and its less crowded than the other places.
5. Write full forms of CNG and PNG.
Ans.:
CNG: Compressed Natural Gas
LPG: Liquefied Petroleum Gas

1. What is transport?
Ans. Carrying people or other things from one place to other is called transport.
2. What do you mean by means of transport?
Ans: The vehicles that are used in the transportation of people and goods are called means of transportation for example bus, truck, railway, ship and aeroplanes etc.
3. What do we use in vehicles?
Ans. We use fuel in vehicles.
4. Write the advantages of modern means of transport.
Ans:
the advantages of modern means of transport are as follows.
1.Works gets done sooner.
2. Time and efforts are saved.
3. Trade is facilitated.
4. Different parts of the world are now connected together.
5. International transport becomes easier.
6. Things are easily available so lifestyle has changed and improved.
7. Tourism, health services and education become speedier and better.
5.Which gases do the vehicles emit?
Ans. The vehicles emit poisonous gases such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide and particles carbon and lead as well
6. What is air pollution?
Ans: The excess of the pollutants in the air lowers the quality of air in the environment is called air pollution.
7. Write the affects of air pollution on animals and plants .
Ans.
1. It affects on trachea, lungs, and eyes.
2. Dry up the leaves of trees and fall down.
3. It affects on the growth and development of plants.
4. It irritates the wild animals in the forests and they start migrating somewhere else.
5. Due to sound pollution restlessness, irritability, headaches, lack of concentration and psychological disorders increase.
8. Suggest some remedies for reducing pollution.
Ans.
1. Using private vehicles when necessary only.
2. Use public transportation.
3. Use that fuel which causes less pollution such as CNG, LPG
4. Planting tree.
5. Maintaining and repairing of vehicles regularly.
9. What are the advantages of using a bicycle ?
Ans.
1 Physical exercise
2. Small loads can be carried.
3. Does not cause pollution.
4. Self-reliance.
5. Saves time
6. Can be stored in a small space.
7. Saves money.
