1. Answer the following questions in brief.
(1) What do you understand by‘fundamental rights’ ?
Answer : Demanding one’s rights is insisting on creating an atmosphere conducive to the development of the self as well as the entire society. The Indian Constitution has guaranteed equal rights to all citizens in order to create this conducive atmosphere. These rights are fundamental rights.
(2) Name the awards that are conferred by the Government upon people for their distinguished contribution in different fields.
Answer : 1.Padmashree, 2.Padmabhushan, 3.Padmavibhushan.
3. Why is it prohibited to employchildren under 14 years of age inhazardous places ?
Answer : (i) Employing children under 14 years of age in hazardous places can be dangerous. Children may be grievously injured and they may even lose their life.
(ii) To prevent the exploitation of children and ban oppression of any kind, it is prohibited to employ children under 14 years of age in hazardous places.
